Employees of Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd in Kuching and Bintulu recently celebrated the company’s annual Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Week, themed this year as “Speak Up For Safety”.
The event aimed to highlight the importance of continuously maintaining a strong Safety culture at work and remind team members that Health, Safety and the Environment is everybody’s responsibility. The week-long celebration included health screenings, a blood donation drive as well as refresher training sessions of the company’s Accident Control Technique (ACT) programme, culminating with a special HSE Day event at the company’s Kuching head office and Bintulu branch.
Trienekens’ Chief Operating Officer, Alice Lee officiated the event in Kuching and later presented special excellence awards to Trienekens’ outstanding groups and individuals for their past year’s HSE performance.
The awards for “Outstanding Safe (Municipal Waste) Team Performance” were presented to Suhaili bin Yusof and his team members Kempus Kawong and Kasuma bin Osman; Mira Jambau and his team members William Tanggang Jambuh and Musa bin Tan; as well as Samuel Suwer and his team members Edi bin Sa’ee and Ariton Bush Ling. Meanwhile, Halmai bin Ogik was the proud recipient of the “Outstanding Safe Driving (RoRo) Performance” award. In Bintulu, the individual award for “Outstanding HSE Performance” went to Sampai Aloh.
From the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park (KIWMP), Martinez Miller received the “Outstanding Safe Performance in Non-Scheduled Waste Operations” award, while Medakariensis Rijos was presented with the “Outstanding Safe Performance in Scheduled Waste Operations” award.
Meanwhile, the awards for “Outstanding Safe Long Haul Driving Performance” were presented to Awang Helmi bin Awang Putit, Awang Ramzi bin Awang Jubeli and Rita Jeli.
A special award for achieving 500,000 Safe Man-Hours for the year 2016/2017 was presented to the Kuching Logistics & Services Division; while the coveted “Best Overall Performance in HSE” award went to the KIWMP Maintenance Department.
