Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd and Ultimate Professional Centre (UPC), in collaboration with the community of Kampung Santubong, recently organised a successful beach clean-up and plogging activity as part of Trienekens’ Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Month programme. The event brought together 100 participants from both organisations and the local community, aiming to foster environmental responsibility and highlight the importance of a clean environment.

The beach clean-up activity was not only a collaborative effort to tackle beach pollution but also served as an educational initiative to encourage sustainable waste management practices among participants and the community. The activity’s primary objective was to promote environmental stewardship while directly benefiting the local ecosystem. The collaborative effort contributed to a cleaner, safer environment, while simultaneously encouraging individuals to take proactive steps toward a more sustainable future.

This activity represents Trienekens’ on-going commitment to environmental health and community engagement,” said Trienekens Group CEO, Stephen Chin. “Together with UPC and the community of Kampung Santubong, we hope to create lasting impacts on the environment and inspire best practices such as embracing the 3Rs and responsible consumption.  Through these actions, we can better protect our beautiful beaches and precious natural heritage from further damage.”

Our team of professionals also shares a unified commitment to environmental conservation,” added UPC Chairman Laura Yiin. “We believe that every small action contributes to a larger impact, and we are thrilled to be part of this initiative that helps reduce our environmental footprint.”

In addition to the plogging activity, participants also competed in a friendly contest for “Most Collected Beach Litter,” which brought a spirit of fun and teamwork to the event. Another activity included a symbolic handover of wheel bins to the residents of Kampung Santubong, reinforcing the groups’ dedication to supporting waste management infrastructure for the local community.

Present at the event as well were Kampung Santubong community leaders, Penghulu Haji Suhaili bin Kipli, Village Chief Haji Hardy bin Morni, UPC Chairman Laura Yiin, Trienekens COO Alice Lee and General Manager for HSE, Harris ak Michael Deho.

UPC is a professional centre in Sarawak that brings together 11 professional bodies from diverse fields. Its primary mission is to foster close rapport, understanding, and collaboration among various professionals and organisations in the region, including Trienekens.
