Trienekens Wins Gold at Shell Malaysia Safety Awards 2022

Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, the operating company of Sarawak’s Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS) has won the coveted Gold Award at the recent Shell Malaysia Safety Awards (SMSA) ceremony hosted by Shell Malaysia.

The company was awarded for its high performance and key achievements in health, safety, security and environmental initiatives within its operations. The Gold Safety Award was awarded under the Downstream and Integrated Gas Category, which was among the top three categories alongside the Upstream and Corporate Categories.

Trienekens Group Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Chin said, “It is a great honour for us to receive this award as it is a testament of our hard work and commitment in achieving the highest level of health, safety and environmental standards for our employees, business and operations.”

Chin added that the award is a great motivation to Trienekens to continue striving for greater excellence in all aspects of its business operations. The SMSA celebrates and honours business partners and contractors for their outstanding health and safety performance throughout the year. It recognises strong Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) work cultures and top safety leaderships, where employees’ safety is a priority. The SMSA is divided into two segments comprising of Safety Awards and Merit Awards.

The awarding process is stringent, and submissions are assessed against a set of criteria aligned to Shell’s HSSE Management System and the Malaysian Society of Occupational Safety and Health (“MSOSH”).

SMSA winners received their awards from Shell Malaysia’s Country Chair, Siti Hurrairah Sulaiman at a special presentation ceremony. Representing Trienekens were its Chief Operating Officer, Alice Lee and Senior Manager for Bintulu Branch, Patricia Susie Nyisong.
