Leachate from the sanitary and secure landfill is collected through an extensive network of pipes then pumped to the Leachate Wastewater Treatment Plant. There, all leachate is treated in a multi-stage process including biological treatment, clarifiers and activated carbon reactor as a final polishing stage to ensure highest treatment results. The plant is fully computerized and all stages of the treatment process are continuously monitored; the water effectively has close to drinking water quality when finally discharged.
