Temporary change of collection schedule
24 May 2011
KUCHING: The waste collection services in selected residential areas with scheduled Wednesday collection under the jurisdiction of Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) in Padawan shall be brought forward to the eve of the Gawai Dayak festival, 31 May 2011 (Tuesday). Residents living in these areas are reminded to wheel out their bin before 5am on this day as Trienekens, supported by one of its sub-contractors, shall start clearing the waste from early morning.
There will be no collection on 1st June (Wednesday) for certain areas. The schedule will return to its normal collection frequency from 2 June 2011 onwards.
“This temporary change is necessary to accommodate the 2-day Gawai public holidays and expected increase in waste volume as well as traffic in some of these areas,” explained Mr. Sarius Lee, the Division Manager, Logistics & Services of Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd.

Residents are also reminded to keep their waste securely inside a garbage bag before disposing of their waste properly into the wheel bin. The bins should also be kept closed at all times to prevent pests or rainwater from seeping into the waste. Residents are also advised not to dispose of their festive waste indiscriminately as this irresponsible act is an offence under the Natural Resources Environment Board Ordinance.
Residents are encouraged to call Trienekens’ Kuching Customer Care and Hotline at 082-612 300 should they require further clarifications regarding their waste collection schedules during this period.
