Illegal dumping creates health risks

16/01/2011

Illegal dumping is an offence under the Natural Resources Environment Board Ordinance and punishable by law and anyone found guilty of dumping waste illegal can be charged with the maximum penalty of RM20,000.00 under Section 30 (1) (a &b).

Both MPP and Trienekens are urging the public not to dump their waste illegall and to take cleanliness more seriously. The two parties will continue to work together to minimize this problem through awareness, education and enforcement. “We greatly encourage residents and business owners or other individuals to play a positive role in this matter as well. While we have the proper facilities to manage our wastes, we also need public cooperation to assist us by not dumping indiscriminately or illegal. We need to think of our health and start protecting our environment,” urged Cr. Lo.

To highlight any illegal dumpings in their area, residents are advised to call MPP at 082-615566 or Trienekens at 082-612300.
