Trienekens Won Chief Minister Environmental Award 2007

Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. the operating company of the Integrated Solid Wastes Management in Sarawak won the Champion trophy of the Chief Minister Environmental Award 2007 under the Private Public Service Category at the award presentation dinner held recently.
Trienekens’ Chairman, Jurgen Pickenhagen and Managing Director, Gerhard Aulbert received the award from the Chief Minister, YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud.
“Receiving this prestigious award is great honour and achievement for us as it is a result of the concerted effort put in by our employees, starting from those who worked hard clearing all the bins out in the streets everyday to those involved in the landfill operations who collectively ensure that all aspects of our business operations care greatly for public’s well-being and conservation of the environment,” said Aulbert.
Trienekens adopts a holistic approach in its business activities of managing all types of wastes, providing reasonable and effective solutions to the public and customers whilst emphasizing on minimization of environmental degradation through utilization of modern approaches.
The company recently embarked on clean development mechanism (CDM) and its intensifying recycling projects.
Aside from operating the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park in Mambong, Trienekens recently completed the safe closure and rehabilitation of the old Matang Dumpsite and improving the environmental conditions of Bintulu’s Kidurong Dumping Ground in collaboration with Sarawak Wastes Management (SWM) Sdn. Bhd. the concession holder of the ISWMS.
The prestigious award was organized by the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) in recognition of the significant contributions and excellent performances made by small and large industries in ensuring good environmental management through best practices and full commitment towards environmental protection and preservation.
