Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. in its bid to help youths to be more proficient in English Language, will sponsor five secondary school students in a project held in collaboration between the Kuching Division Journalist Association (KDJA) and a local language centre.
The target of the project is to get sponsors for at least 100 students in the city to receive English tuition at JJ Smart Learning House and English Language Centre operation by former News Straits Times journalist, Tan Chin Siang. Trienekens’ Managing Director, Mr. Joerg Domroes yesterday handed over the sponsorship to KDJA Treasurer Francis Voon.
The students from the low-income group would come from several schools in the city and administrators of each respective school would carry out the selection process. Their expenses would be fully sponsored by corporate bodies and concerned individuals.
The students would be taught the fundamentals of English for a period of six months beginning in May, to enhance their proficiency in listening, speaking, writing and reading. Companies or individuals who would like to support the project can contact Tan at 016-8071008
