COLOR ME BEST...The first of several series of drawings included in the contest, reminding young kids to always keep their home and city clean and free from waste
Boosting environmental awareness and appreciation through artistic expressions because nature and wildlife itself are parts of the colours of life, which should be conserved and enjoyed by all as best as possible. Believing in this concept, Trienekens will be launching a monthly colouring contest for children with Eastern Times and Utusan Sarawak starting this weekend.
“This is part of our company’s long-term awareness program where we engage the public from young, to understand and appreciate their environment while doing our bit together as a community to make it better and cleaner place to live in. Sometimes we tend to forget the small things we do which can affect the state of our environment, especially in the way we handle our household wastes,” said Sarius Lee, Trienekens Business Development Manager.
“We are proud to partner with Eastern Times and Utusan Sarawak in this awareness project as the papers also cares for the environment and the well-being of the community. With the message presented through this contest, children, and parents as well, will better appreciate their environment and understand that, even through small efforts, we, either as individuals or community, can make big differences to the level of cleanliness in our neighourhoods or cities,” said Lee.
The contest is open to children aged between seven to 12 years old. The contest drawing and entry form can be obtained from Eastern Times Sunday edition this weekend 12 July 2009. The closing date will be on 18 July 2009. Winners shall stand the chance to win cash prizes comprising of RM150.00 for first place, RM100.00 second and RM50.00 for third place including three consolation prizes.
