Trienekens Extend Collection Hours to Midnight on CNY Eve

In preparation for the expected increase of festive wastes during the Chinese New Year celebration, Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. shall extend the hours of its collection service to midnight on the eve of the celebration.

“Our teams will be working on double shift on the eve of Chinese New Year starting from 8.00am until 12.00am, covering the various commercial and residential areas under MBKS, MPP and DBKU jurisdictions,” announced Trienekens Senior Manager, Operations, Elvin Wee.

Mr. Wee mentioned that it is important to keep the domestic waste tightly secured inside a garbage bag and keep the lids closed at all times, especially during rainy season to prevent rain-water from mixing with wastes. To reduce leachate spillage, residents are advised to drain out any form of liquid such as soup or gravy from the kitchen waste before disposing the solid waste into the bin.

All residents are advised to wheel out their bins early to avoid missing out on the additional collections. For additional wastes, which cannot fit into the wheel bin, should also be tied-up in garbage bags (for green wastes such as branches to be cut and tied up neatly) and placed next to the bin. Household residents are urged not to indiscriminately dump their bulky/garden waste at housing back lanes, residential main roads or in nearby bushes as such acts are considered illegal. Residents are also advised it is mandatory to use the standard Trienekens 120litre mobile garbage bins for containment of their wastes for smooth and efficient collection.

The Trienekens’ Hotline 082-612300 operation hours will also be extended from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 midnight on 13th February 2010 to receive enquiries or requests from the public. Any information from the public on excess wastes spotted around Kuching is most welcomed.
