Trienekens Bintulu Plans for CNY Spring Cleaning Early

Friday, 29/01/2010, Bintulu

Starting from 11 February 2010, Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. Bintulu Branch shall place additional RoRo waste containers at several designated areas such as BDA Lama, MDS Supermarket Medan Jaya, Super Save Medan Jaya, Taman Li Hua Shoplots, Bandar Jaya Shoplots and Desa Damai Shoplots. The additional bins are placed at these places to cater for the expected increase of festive wastes there. Residents or public using the bins at these areas are reminded to practice care when disposing of their waste and to throw them directly into the bulky bins to avoid over spilling of waste.

In addition to extra bins, Trienekens Bintulu Branch will be providing additional waste collection services in several ‘hot-spot’ areas in Bintulu on the eve of Chinese New Year (13 February 2010) starting from 8.00pm onwards. The additional collections hours shall also continue on the second (15 February, Monday) and third (16 February, Tuesday) day of Chinese New Year respectively while the normal collection scheduled for the two days shall remain unchanged.

Trienekens Bintulu Branch Manager Mr. Thaddeus Wong today advises residents who wish to carry out their spring cleaning in time for the festival to do so as early as possible. “Timely preparation and disposal of the wastes shall allow our team to carry out the collection services smoothly and effectively,” said Mr. Wong.

Trienekens Bintulu also appeals for public co-operation to use their wheel bins properly and to pack all wastes in proper garbage bags. For additional wastes, which cannot fit into the wheel bin, should also be tied-up in garbage bags (for green wastes such as branches to be cut and tied up neatly) and placed next to the bin. Household residents are urged not to indiscriminately dump their bulky/garden waste as such acts are considered illegal dumping.

Waste should be kept tightly secured inside a garbage bag and the lids closed at all times, especially during this rainy season to prevent rain-water from mixing with wastes. To reduce leachate spillage, residents are advised to drain out any form of liquid such as soup or gravy from the kitchen waste before disposing the solid waste into the bin.
