Change in Waste Collection Schedule

Bintulu – With effect from 1st February 2007, several residential areas in Bintulu Town will be experiencing a change in their waste collection schedule. Residents living in the following areas are advised to take note of their new collection day:

New Collection Day /Affected Areas
Monday & Thursday
Masjid Assyakirin, SK Agama Kidurong, Loji & Kuarters LAKU

Tuesday & Friday
Sample Park Ph 4 & 5, Ecorich Park, Taman Jason

Wednesday & Saturday
Kpg Assyakirin Ph 1,2 & 3

According to Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd. Bintulu Branch Manager, Mr. Thaddeus Wong, the change in collection schedule is part of the branch’s plan to optimize its collection operations in Bintulu in view of its growing population and increasing number of new housing areas. “The new schedule will ensure that the collection routes are optimized and residents will continue to receive consistent and efficient collection services from the company,” Mr. Wong added.

Residents affected by the change are advised to wheel out their bins in the evening before their new scheduled collection day. They are also advised to pack any additional waste securely inside a garbage bag and especially with the rainy season, to keep the lid of the wheel bin closed at all times to avoid rainwater from seeping into their waste.
